Douglas A Greenough was born in Seven Persons Alberta on September 6th 1925 at the beginning of the Great Depression that followed tbhe stock market crash of 1929 , He grew up in Edmonton Alberta, attended Queen Alexandra Elementary School Garneau Intermediate, West Jasper Place High School and finally Westglen High School in the West End of Edmonton Alberta.
He initially enrolled in the Pre Medical and Medical programs of the University of Alberta and switched to a study of Theoilogy in 1948 after a period of three summer pastorates on summer charges of the United Church of Canada . He then studied agt St Stephen's Theological College in Edmonton , associated with the University of Alberta
He was ordained at Knox United Church in Calgary in 1951, ( He was to be called to serve that church as Assistant Minister in 1954 ) , He was called to serve the United Church in Lac La Biche Alberta . Subsequently he served not only Knox Church ( 1954 - 58 ) but Trinity in Fort Macleod ( 1958 - 64 ) , Lakeview in Calgary ( 1964 -71 ), Wesley in Thunder Bay ( 1971 - 1980 ) and Grace United Chuch in Sarna Ontario . ( 1980 to 1990 ) when he retired.
He attended regular continuing education courses at United Colllege , UBC ( Vamcouver ) as well as some 16 years at the Institute of Religion at Princeton Seminary ( Princeton University , Princeton N.J. ) to 1990.
For the next ten years he served as an Interim Minister , finally retiring in 2000 AD He and his wife Marjorie continue to live in Sarnia . They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary this year ( 2012 AD ) This is their story. Another volume in on the way.
