Hugo von François

[Deutsch] Hugo von François war Offizier der deutschen Schutztruppe in der ehemaligen Kolonie Deutsch-Südwestafrika, dem heutigen Namibia. Als Militärkommandant von Windhoek organisierte er deren Abwehr während des Hereroaufstandes.

[English] Hugo von François was an officer of the German colonial forces in the former colony of German Southwest Africa, now Namibia. As a military commander of Windhoek, he organized the defense during the Herero uprising.
