Author Tammy Jones is a native of Raymond, Washington. She lived, played, graduated high school and raised a family during the 35 years she spent in the tight-knit coastal logging town of roughly 2,500 people. Her graduating class had 44 members, many of whom she still considers as her close friends.
In 1998, she bumped into Tom Jones. He was an ambitious outdoorsman who from early on had his sights set on Alaska. In 2008, following 10 years of refusing to have any part in this dream, Tammy finally gave in to the idea of buying remote property in the Last Frontier. This is where the story of ALASKA BOUND was unknowingly created. This roller coaster of a journey is now described in great detail within the pages of her new book. In 2004, the couple moved to northeast Oregon where they spent the next two years toughing it out as full-time loggers. It was in 2007 when the couple bought this second property and built their home. These were the comfy accommodations that she reluctantly left behind to go to Alaska with Tom in 2009.....and also the home to which she returned when she decided to write a book about the out-of-this-world adventure of which Tom had dreamed of for so many years.
