The volume deals with sincerity by means of the concept of 'effects': this means, on the one hand, the rhetorical and intertextual strategies that generate or authenticate sincerity; on the other hand, 'effects' in the sense of the impact of sincere communication on concepts such as individuality, trust or truth.
