Case studies, the main component of the DrNP portfolio, enable the DrNP student to demonstrate mastery of clinical competencies and provide the Portfolio Review Committee a basis for evaluation of care delivered. Case studies include patient assessment and the clinical decision-making process, citation of the biophysical underpinnings and evidence for the plan of care provided, and discussion of the intervention outcome. Each student's portfolio requires a minimum of 15 complex case studies to provide sufficient evidence of achievement of this level of comprehensive practice. This book contains examples of individual portfolio case studies to serve as a basis for discussion and as a guide to follow in creating your own DrNP portfolio for mastery assessment.
