This is a biography of Demetrius Cydones (1327-1397), prime-minister of Byzantine Emperors John VI Kantakouzenos, John V Palaiologos and Manuel Palaiologos. He was a writer, translator, teacher and theologian. He established a good reputation both in Byzantium and in Italy.
