Fetal and neonatal physiology

As a general rule, the editors eliminated clinical material that is thoroughly covered in one of the many excellent textbooks on neonatology. However, there are 30 completely new chapters ranging in scope from apoptosis and angiogenesis to stem cells in development. In addition, amost all of the chapters have been updated and extensively rewritten, with advancements in developmental physiology discussed in the context of changing concepts in normal human physiology.

Provides in-depth coverage of the physics of sound, anatomy, and physiology of the auditory system; causes and treatment of hearing disorders; and relavant diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. The authors emphasize the proper evaluation of hearing disorders and the treatment avenue available for these disorders.
