Korean War Clergy Baptists

"After 90 years and still going strong, Herb Carlisle has lived an extraordinary life. From his humble beginnings in rural Alabama, he went on to make his mark in the world. Part of a family of ten in a house without heat or indoor plumbing during the Depression, Carlisle remembers with humor and poignancy the challenges they faced and the can-do spirit that inspired him to greater heights. Follow his journey as he shares his colorful experiences as a soldier in a MASH unit in Korea, and his work challenges as a tenacious civilian working with the Air Force upon his return. Transferred to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn, Ohio, Herb took his sense of responsibility and his interest in his new community all the way to the top, getting elected Mayor of his new home town, and making civic contributions that endure today. A devout Southern Baptist who tithes, Herb Carlisle shares his moment of salvation, the principles of his faith, and some very engaging stories about his work as Minister to Senior Adults when he moved to Andalusia, Alabama after retiring. During treatment for cancer, Carlisle created an impromptu ministry for his fellow patients at Hope Lodge in Florida. From Poverty to Lower Middle Class is an inspiring tale of a life well lived. Herb Carlisle is living proof of the phrase Bloom Where You Are Planted." --
