God in action
F. A. Cockin
God in Action is about the third person of the Trinity -the Holy Spirit. Bishop Cockin is convinced that a great deal of the Church's weakness and lack of effective leadership in contemporary society springs from neglect of the workings of the Spirit. The urgent tasks of the Church, such as the rehabilitation of the Christian way of life in an unbelieving world; the bringing of Christianity to industrial and family life; and the achievement of a break-out from the stalemate of disunity - all these he relates to the fact of the Spirit as he appears in the New Testament and in Christian experience. The author maintains that the thought, work, and worship of the Church must be invigorated and largely transformed by the recovery of the sense of God's Spirit speaking through the events of our own lives - and that this indeed is the Biblical outlook.
