Greedy Frederick is a Victorian moralist tale for children, somewhat in the genre of Hilaire Belloc. It is about a young boy who thinks of naught but his stomach, his journey to stay with his aunt and cousins for Christmas, his intransigence and unpleasantness, discipline by the nurse, Father Christmas' arrival and the very special gift that he has for Frederick, Frederick's awakening on a cold morning, the disgusting indulgence in which he engages, and the gruesome fate that awaits his greed.
