It's Jake with me

It's Jake with me is a wonderful paperback written by the late Mr. Jake Geller of Windsor, Ontario. I delivered the Detroit Free Press to Mr. Geller for several years as a high school student. One morning in 1984 I found a copy of "It's Jake With Me" at his apartment door when I delivered my newspaper. The cover had a beautiful illustration of a young man selling newspapers on the corner of a busy downtown Windsor with his arms and a newspaper in the air. The newsprint pocket book was his autobiography. The cover is mostly brown and orange. Excellent illustration!

Mr. Geller wrote a personal note to me in the copy that he left for me. I cherished it and gave it to others to read. Sadly I lost it. The book is full of stories of how Mr. Geller had left school in his middle teens to sell newspapers and begin a very successful newspaper, magazine and publishing business in Windsor Ontario that would occupy him for most of his life in Windsor.

Anyone who has any connection to Windsor,Ontario, it's history and/or it's people would be captivated by Mr. Geller's unique story telling ability. He took on this business to help support his family. He had guts and ambition. He believed in himself. He also details how encouraged many others in Windsor in "It's Jake With Me." I would sorely love to find a used copy of this wonderful book as this gift and Mr. Geller meant a lot to me. This book would be great reading for any young man or woman that has goals and dreams and little else. Mr. Geller does an artful job at describing how he turned those dreams and goals into success in this book.

I believe the printer/publisher, Paperjack of Markham is still around but I couldn't find the book on their site. It would be great if it could be turned into an E-Book. Mr. Geller was one of a kind. He could be a real inspiration to youth across Canada and beyond with his story in "It's Jake With Me."
