This is book is a fresh and original take on the later middle ages seen as a century of mystical quest until the emergence of the Reformation. The book compares French situation to Italy as well to the Northern Europe and is large in scope. It embraces Jean's Gerson's writings from theological, philological, pedagogical and humanistic perspectives and offers the broadest view on his creativity among all the works dedicated to him so far. The premise of the book, which is not to be disclosed here, is entirely original idea.
