This research work brings together the work of the fourteen architects distinguished until 2019 for their professional career with the Mestre Valencià d'Arquitectura Award, granted since 1990 by the Official College of Architects of the Valencian Community (COACV). After a preliminary choral remark that argues the main feature shared by all of them - modern architecture developed around the sixties and seventies - the publication proposes an approach to modernity in the Valencian Community from the necessary reference to the national and international scene. An initial contextualization up to the decade of the fifties is followed by a more exhaustive journey through modern architecture since the end of autarchy, supported by the description of fourteen significant works. These works, in addition to representing the legacy of each Mestre and putting in value the inherent architectural quality, contribute to compose an adjusted idea of ​​its stage a and its sociocultural context, and articulate a complementary story to the most popular about the evolution of modern architecture in our country during those years. The edition is completed with fourteen texts dedicated to each of the Mestres which, written by renowned specialists in the field, respectively accompany the analyzed projects and bring us closer to the figure of these architects
