History of Gnas-rñiṅ Monastery (a.k.a. Gnas rnying, Nenying or Naining), located near Khang-dmar in Gyantse (a.k.a. Gyangze or Jiangzi County), Shigatse (Xigaze Prefecture). The monastery was founded in the 9th century and has been affiliated with a range of Tibetan Buddhist schools throughout its history, as well as the Bon-po tradition; includes detailed biographies of its abbots and other important figures and teachings received.
