Fundación Miguel Lillo

Centro Cultural Dr. Alberto Rouges Art Collections Artists

The Centro Cultural Alberto Rougés of the Fundación Miguel Lillo, in homage to its 30 years of work, published a catalog of his artistic heritage, comprising works by artists who generously donated them increasing their heritage and who constitute an important sample of Argentine art, especially of the region. In addition to organizing exhibitions of local artists and other educational-cultural activities, the collection of Visual Arts was created with the donation of artworks by the artists or their relatives. This valuable heritage brings together works that cover a long period of time, from approximately 1840 to the present. It has two portraits of the draftsman and painter of Tucumán Ignacio Baz, an artist who deployed an important activity between 1840 and 1887, who together with Gabino Castro, are considered the initiators of the pictorial production in Tucuman.
