Practical guide to producing consumer price indices

Supplements the ILO's 2004 "Consumer price index manual: theory and practice", itself being the revised version of the 1989 "Consumer price indices: an ILO manual". Gives advice to compilers of CPIs, especially in the developing world, on sampling, price collection, calculation of elementary and higher-level price indices, the treatment of seasonal products, adjustment for quality change, methods for dealing with difficult-to-measure products such as own-account consumption, second-hand goods, owner-occupied housing, telecommunications, cars, computers, etc. Appends a model checklist based on the 2003 ILO Resolution on consumer price indexes as well as a glossary of terms.
