This is a hugely important historical book. The borders of Pennsylvania and Virginia were disputed for a period of time--a war, Dunmore War, resulted. The dispute was finally settled by a survey in 1784-5 and resolved in 1786. Records in what is now Pennsylvania were lost and mixed with those of Virginia, resulting in a historical/genealogical "black hole"; one of many in our history.
