Founded in 1880, the Revue des Études Juives (Journal of Jewish Studies), abbreviated REJ, is a French quarterly, published by the Société des Études Juives (Society of Jewish Studies), under the editorship of Isidore Loeb (1839-1892), and and after his death under that of Israël Lévi (1856-1939). The REJ is devoted to the study of all aspects of Judaism throughout history according to scientific methods and to the printing of unpublished texts concerning Judaism. It publishes research on religion, history, literature and Jewish societies, mainly in that they relate to the Jews in France, as well as the work of anthropology.
The REJ is arranged in volumes, two of which contain the records for the year. Each of these volumes consists of two numbers.
