Separation of Church and State

The separation of church and state represents a fundamental tenet of American democracy, but does the First Amendment separate church and state with a "high and impregnable" wall? For forty years the Supreme Court has generally said yes, arguing that the Founding Fathers intended the First Amendment to erect such a wall.

Separation of Church and State demonstrates the fallacy of this argument. "With the use of mostly primary historical documents," writes the author, "I show conclusively that the Supreme Court has erred in its interpretation of the First Amendment. The facts within this study prove beyond reasonable doubt that no 'high and impregnable' wall between Church and State was in historical fact erected by the First Amendment." Many of the key primary documents comprise the book's 60-page addenda.
