Walter, Lilia and Franco met at the station Barletta: every day the same train, same car, same places, to reach the university. In the torrid summer 1977 are grappling with the latest practices in order to graduate. Walter became a geologist, a biologist Lilia, an engineer Franco. All three, to varying degrees, are involved in an investigation into the illegal trafficking of hazardous waste, along a north-south axis that runs as far as Tranent Veronese hinterland, where there are suspected cases of spontaneous abortions and congenital malformations ... Each of them will have to deal with their responsibilities and the dirty story that has overwhelmed them, as they outline the contours of environmental violence that, unfortunately, has very little romance.
