This first book in a six-book series set primarily in Northern Italy, with scenes in New Jersey, presents the relationships between three main characters: Angelina, a native of Rimini, Italy in her mid-thirties, widowed and dealing with financial and familial baggage; her multi-talented over-protective godmother Valentina, friend of Angelina's dead mother and a veteran of Italian law enforcement and intelligence services; and, Benjamin, a native of New Jersey in his mid-thirties, divorced, and relocating to Rimini for a fresh start. The characters interact with historically accurate events and locations, and the story reflects the language, culture, traditions, and history of Northern Italy.
