Tunika Nessosa

A collection of articles published previously. Pp. 85-138, "Antysemityzm ONR 'Falangi'", analyze the program of a radical fascist group in Poland active in the 1930s, whose leader was Bolesław Piasecki. Surveys the Falanga press and its main antisemitic motifs. The Falanga leaders considered the Jews the greatest enemy of Poland, more dangerous than the Germans or the Russians. They proposed the founding of an Antisemitic International of Nationalists which would find an international solution for the "Jewish question", and in Poland the founding of the "Catholic State of the Polish Nation", which would eliminate the Jews from all spheres of activity and cause their mass emigration. Pp. 139-164, "Dwie ojczyzny, dwa patriotyzmy (uwagi o megalomanii narodowej i ksenofobii Polaków)" ["Two Fatherlands, Two Patriotisms (Remarks on the National Megalomania and Xenophobia of the Poles")], examine the relationship of Poles with their neighbors and minorities throughout history. Pp. 152-161 deal with the attitude of Poles towards the Jews from the Middle Ages up to 1967 and various forms of antisemitism, from mild xenophobia to racism. Underlines the importance of education, which would reduce the megalomania and xenophobia among Poles. States that he does not identify with the patriotism of those Poles who require xenophobia and antisemitism in order to be "better Poles".
