"Writings of the Vancouver Five" is a book of essays and poems by the Vancouver Five, an anarchist guerrilla group active in Canada during the 1980s. (They were also known as Direct Action and The Squamish Five.) They carried out attacks on an arms manufacturer, a hydro substation, and three pornographic video stores. In these essays, they explain the motivations for their actions, the destructive hopelessness of industrial society, the oppression of patriarchy, their dreams of liberation and their direct attacks on the system.
"Writings of the Vancouver Five" is a republication of a zine originally printed by Press Gang in Canada. We've redesigned and printed it as the first in a new series of short titles called "Circle-A Books", which will feature texts on radical history.
