"Dennou Hyouryuu: Multimedia Cruising" is based on William Gibson's cyberpunk novel "Neuromancer," known as the pioneer of the cyberpunk genre. It captures the early '90s digital culture, blending tech visuals with a hint of digital hippie movement. Players navigate through a cyberspace filled with computer chips, accessing various themed worlds known as "sub-pools," such as CD-ROM, internet, magazine, music, digital Hollywood, art, and fashion. Each sub-pool offers multimedia content accessed through floating plates, providing movies, texts, and audio. Players control their movement with cruising-like commands, exploring these digital realms akin to browsing a multimedia digital magazine.
