Fernando Ferreira dos Santos
Personal Name Fernando Ferreira dos Santos
Born in Maceió and did grow in União dos Palmares, he has been working with culture in União dos Palmares since 2003 and is a black artist (MC, beatmaker, filmmaker, writer). His productions focus on the memory of black people and their cultural manifestations. He has taken part in various Brazilian audiovisual projects, including the Aqualtune Festival of Cinema and Afrofuturism held in Maceió and União dos Palmares, which he was hired to cover on video. He also took part in the organisation of the Ecofalante exhibition at the Federal University of the Recôncavo Baiano (UFRB - 2023), being responsible for the sessions that took place in the auditorium of the Centre for Arts, Humanities and Letters (CAHL - 2023), making of the feature film Look at Me 2025 by director Rafhael Barbosa.
He was awarded the Elinaldo Barros prize in the Aldir Blanc public notice (2021) for an autobiographical short film called Habito, of which he is the director, scriptwriter and executive director. The film is currently in distribution, distributed by Selva Independente (producer of the film Trincheira), funded by SEBRAE Alagoas, co-produced by La Ursa cinematográfica (producer of the film Cavalo) and Eu Mesmo Filmes (producer and director).
She is also a member of the research group SONatório - Laboratório de Pesquisa, Prática e Experimentação Sonora, supervised by Dr Marina Mapurunga de Miranda Ferreira, which is the sound director for the film Coffee with Cinnamon (Café com Canela), by Ary Rosa and Glenda Nicácio.
